Review of Strange Parallel by Helene Koppejan

I would recommend people to not read this book due to the following red flags.

Page 9, as evidence she uses a text which compares the Spanish with Amalek and the Dutch with Israel. So she is claiming that the Dutch were Israel. When you actually read the Jewish Encyclopedia (1905) page on Netherlands, it writes,

In particular, the relations between the Dutch and South America were established by Jews; they contributed to the establishment of the Dutch West Indies Company in 1621, of the directorate of which some of them were members.

That would explain why the Dutch called themselves "Israel" because that text was written by Jews who to this day often call themselves Israel and then call any opponent Amolek.

Page 11, "His main subjects were the Israelitish origin of the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic peoples, the Davidic descent of the British Royal Family, the Hebrew origin of North-West European languages, the difference between the Lost House of Israel (in Western Europe) and the Jews of Judah, who at the time were dispersed all over the world."

This is noise. It does not matter whether someone is of Davidic descent or not. This is because Christians know that Jesus is the messiah. There is no need to search for another descendant of David. Jesus was a descendant and thus already fulfilled all the requirements for the messiah, see Matthew 1.

The Bible has warned us exactly for the stuff this author is pushing.

We should not give "heed to Jewish fables" (Titus 1:14, KJV), nor "fables and endless genealogies" (1 Timothy 1:4).

This last verse also answers the question on whether the Dutch descent from Israel or not. It doesn't matter. In the New Testament, Israel refers to spiritual Israel not physical Israel. Here are a bunch of KJV verses that clarify that: The Chosen People According to the Bible.
