What is the beast in Revelation?

After having done mystery Babylon in another blogpost this post will collect some verses that talk about the beast that will be worshiped by all whose names are not written in the book, according to Revelation 13.

The beast has seven heads and ten horns.

Revelation 13:1-4, "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"

Satan is "the dragon", according to Revelation 12:9 and will give power unto the beast according to Revelation 13:2. Worship of "the dragon" as mentioned in Revelation 13:4 is already happening today since many worship Satan.

Dragon with "his angels" being opposed to Michael and his angels is mentioned in Revelation 12:7,

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,"

Revelation 12:9, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

The dragon will appear in heaven and take his 1/3rd of the angels with him. Revelation 12:3-4, "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born."

And the beast "shall ascend out of the bottomless pit".

Revelation 17:7-8, "And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is."

which is also mentioned in Revelation 11:7,

"And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them."

The ten horns are ten kings, who receive power one hour with the beast

Revelation 17:12, "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast."

The beast is a "him".

Revelation 13:8, "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

The beast will be the eight king

Revelation 17:10-11, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

Revelation 9:11, "And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."

Apollyon is also known as Apollo. Google denies this, but some occult and history websites will confirm it.

The dragon will persecute "the woman which brought forth the man child" (Revelation 12:13). This is probably Jerusalem that will bring forth the man child that will rule over all the nations sitting in the Temple of God, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

After the first beast comes another beast that does great miracles and exerciseth all the power of the first beast.

_Revelation 13:11-13, "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,"

The second beast seems like an assistant to the first beast, because the second beast, Revelation 13:14-16, "And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:"

The number of the second beast "is the number of a man" and his number is 666.

This man is also called "the false prophet" in Revelation 19:20,

"And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

The devil, the beast, and the false prophet are mentioned again in Revelation 20:10, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

So the answer seems to be that the beast is a beast that will come out of the bottomless pit. It probably looks literally like a leopard with feet of a bear, and the mouth of a lion.

Given that the beast is called the eight king in Revelation 17:10, and at the same time, the angel of the bottomless pit known as Apollyon or Apollo is also said to be a king over the locusts that come out of the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:11, it might be that "the beast" is Apollo. That would explain all the 911 and Apollo worship in our world.
